President

  1. Provide leadership to the Board of Directors of the Chapter.
  2. Ensure the Board adheres to its Bylaws.
  3. Prepare the Board’s agenda with input from the Board members.
  4. Chair Board meetings and encourage Board members to participate in meetings and activities.
  5. Keep the Board’s activities focused on the organization’s mission.
  6. Evaluate the effectiveness of the Board’s decision-making process.
  7. Appoint committee chairperson(s).
  8. Assist Board members and committee chairpersons to the Board.
  9. Ensure there is a process to evaluate the effectiveness of Board members.
  10. Recognize Board members’ contributions to the Board’s work.
  11. Act as one of the signing officers for disbursements checks and other official documents.
  12. Promote the organization’s purpose in the community and to the media.
  13. Prepare a report for the Annual General Meeting.
  14. Ensure programs and services are implemented.
  15. Arrange location and logistics for Board meetings.
  16. Responsible for the overall strategic plan.
  17. Promote the ideals of the Chapter as well as IIBA Global in the media and community

Vice President

  1. In the absence of the President, assumes authority, duties and responsibilities of the President and shall have such other authority as may be delegated by the Chapter President.
  2. Provide leadership to the Board of Directors of the Chapter.
  3. Ensure the Board adheres to its Bylaws
  4. Encourage Board members to participate in meetings and activities.
  5. Keep the Board’s activities focused on the organization’s mission.
  6. Assist Board members and committee chairpersons to the Board.
  7. Participate in the evaluation of the effectiveness of the Board’s decision-making process.
  8. Participate in the process of evaluating the effectiveness of Board members.
  9. Promote the organization’s purpose in the community and to the media.
  10. Ensure programs and services are implemented.
  11. Along the President defines the overall strategic plan.
  12. Guide and support Vice Presidents as required to carry out their duties successfully.

Treasurer

  1. File the federal and state tax returns as required by law.
  2. Give regular reports to the Board on the financial state of the organization.
  3. Keep financial reports on file.
  4. Act as signing officer with the President for checks and other documents.
  5. Manage the accounting of the funds of the organization, its budget and expenditures.
  6. Keep full and accurate accounts of all organizational receipts and disbursements.
  7. Receive and bank all monies due to the organization.
  8. Disburse all monies as directed by the Board.
  9. File necessary financial reports, tax reports and audits.
  10. Ensure compliance with local and corporate fiduciary responsibilities.
  11. File annual financial statements with IIBA in accordance with affiliation agreements.

Vice President Communications & Marketing

  1. Prepare and advertise all Chapter events
  2. Prepare and manage communication to external parties - members, nonmembers, sponsors, speakers, and partners
  3. Maintain Chapter contacts and other IIBA organization contacts.
  4. Create and communicate yearly Newsletter to members
  5. Ensure that all communications, including the web site, are consistent with the desired brand positioning, messaging and have a common look and feel.
  6. Develop and/or facilitate the development of chapter communication guidelines, processes, and templates
  7. Market through social media all Chapter events, Chapter mission, workshops and other Chapter activities that will result in the growth of the Chapter.
  8. Promote the vision and mission of the Chapter.
  9. Develop and manage marketing strategies, tactics, and plans for the Chapter to elevate the awareness in the business community and support the execution of the organization's goals.
  10. Conduct periodic member surveys to assess the organization’s needs.

Vice President of Technology

  1. Ensures the local Chapter website accessibility to IIBA members and visitors.
  2. Maintains accessibility and permissions of the website and other tools.
  3. Responsible for maintenance of other tools such as email, Chapter Google docs, electronic voting tool, event advertising tool(s)
  4. Ensure Chapter technology meets IIBA requirements.
  5. Be the technology liaison to IIBA.
  6. Supports technology needs for the Chapter.

Vice President Professional Development

  1. Promote IIBA and the Business Analysis profession: including and not limited to events, IIBA certifications, available IIBA endorsed education providers, IIBA education materials and respond to inquiries about business analysis career path(s).
  2. Provide information and guidance to others on education and experience requirements for the different IIBA certifications examinations, including recertifications.
  3. Plan, schedule, coordinate and manage chapter study groups for the different types of IIBA certifications as described by IIBA
  4. Plan, schedule and coordinate training offered by IIBA-endorsed providers to help business analysts grow their business analysis skills as well as help build business analysis skills for junior and/or new aspiring business analysts (Note: Chapters are prohibited from offering training developed by the Chapter, but may host training sessions offered by an IIBA Endorsed provider)
  5. Provide information and updates on any changes to the BA Book of Knowledge, IIBA Business
  6. Analysis Standard, IIBA Business Analysis Competency Model and other IIBA core publications to help business analysts in the Business Analysis profession.
  7. Be always in the know of the latest information on IIBA education and professional development opportunities as described by IIBA

Secretary

  1. Maintain copies of the organization’s Bylaws and the Board’s policy statements.
  2. Take official meeting minutes, including all motions and decisions of meetings.
  3. Record Board attendance and ensure there is quorum at meetings.
  4. Maintain copies of minutes of Board and committee meetings.
  5. Distribute copies of minutes promptly and sign Board minutes and corrections to attest to their
  6. accuracy.
  7. Conduct and maintain records of all Board correspondence.
  8. Sign official documents of the organization as required.
